A Passion That Became Prima Veloura

Prima Veloura began with a passion that stayed with me for many years—the love for creating and wearing beautiful, distinctive kurtis.

Long before Prima Veloura became a brand, I was a medical student with a strong interest in fashion and design. I always wanted to wear kurtis that felt different—something elegant and personal, rather than the same designs that everyone could find in a store.

So, I began creating my own.

I would take my mother's sarees, choose a design that I envisioned, and give the fabric to a tailor to bring my idea to life. There was something incredibly special about seeing a piece of fabric transform into a kurti that was unique, elegant and completely my own.

That is where my passion for designing kurtis truly began.

I also wanted my clothes to be more than just beautiful. I wanted them to be light, comfortable and easy to wear, while still making me feel stylish and confident.

As life moved forward, my medical and corporate career became increasingly demanding. With work, marriage and other responsibilities, my creative passion gradually took a back seat.

But it never disappeared.

And then came a simple thought...

Why not turn the passion I've carried for so many years into a career of my own?

That thought became the beginning of Prima Veloura.

Why Prima Veloura?

The name itself reflects what I wanted the brand to represent.

Prima represents the first, the finest, something important and special.

Veloura is inspired by the feeling of soft, luxurious and beautiful fabric—the kind of feeling we want our clothing to bring.

Together, Prima Veloura represents our vision of creating clothing that feels special, refined and luxurious, while remaining comfortable enough for everyday life.

Designed From Experience

Being a doctor has shaped the way I think about clothing.

I know what it feels like to have long, demanding days, to constantly move around, meet people and still want to feel comfortable and well dressed.

That experience became part of the philosophy behind Prima Veloura.

I wanted to create kurtis that bring together three things that I believe should never be compromised:
